Early Childhood Data Collector (Part-Time: On-Call)
Part-time, on-call data collectors needed to help fulfill many research functions in the Nebraska Center for Research on Children, Youth, Families and Schools at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
Responsibilities include:
- Field-based data collection and professional representation
- Travel to schools across Lincoln and rural areas of Nebraska
- Serving as the face of the research team in the field, coordinating schedules, conducting assessments, and upholding confidentiality and professional standards
- Administering assessments and maintaining reliability
- Conducting questionnaires with parents and administering standardized assessments to young children (ages 3–6)
- Completing training to achieve and maintain reliability on all assessment measures
- Supporting logistics and data management
- Assisting with scheduling assessments, scoring, checking data, and coordinating with other data collectors
- Contributing to data management tasks and ensuring accurate documentation

Minimum
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree with some coursework in psychology, education, child development or related field and at least six months experience working with young children (ages 3-6 years);
Additional relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and video-recording equipment. Flexible availability during weekdays (7am-8pm) and/or weekends. Must be available to work a minimum of 10 hours up to 40 hours during these times. Detail-oriented, highly organized, able to work independently with minimal supervision. Dependable transportation. Familiarity with basic technology (e.g., iPad, video-recording equipment).
Valid driver's license and approved to drive on University business.
Preferred Qualifications - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, education, child development or related field. One year of research experience, including assessment administration, classroom observations, scoring, or data entry. Preschool classroom experience. Knowledge of development in young children and child assessments. Knowledge of working with families.
