Purpose Statement
The job of Teacher Elementary Title I Achievement and Behavior Support is to provide support to the instructional process by serving as an elementary teacher responsible for directing and providing services to identified Title I students. This includes facilitating full participation of Title I students in the academic program through individualized planning, collaborating with teachers, professional staff, and administrators to address instructional and classroom issues, and responding to inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional programs, behavioral plans, and student progress.
Essential Functions
- Administers assessments, district and/or state tests to access Title I student competency levels and develop individual learning and behavior plans.
- Administers instructional programs to improve student success in academics through a defined course of study.
- Advises parents and/or legal guardians of Title I student progress to communicate expectations, behavioral goals, and achievements, and to develop methods of improvement or reinforce classroom expectations at home.
- Analyzes test data and plans instructional responses to enhance student achievement.
- Assesses student progress toward objectives, grade-level expectations, and goals to provide feedback to students, parents, administration, and district specialists.
- Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, and community resources (e.g., PTA, business partners) to improve overall Title I student outcomes and achieve classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan.
- Counsels Title I students and seeks appropriate resources to improve academic and behavioral performance.
- Creates student behavioral and academic plans to support Title I student learning.
- Demonstrates support for building and district initiatives to maximize a collaborative approach to the District’s goals and objectives.
- Directs paraprofessionals, volunteers, and/or student workers to provide an effective learning environment and address the needs of individual Title I students.
- Facilitates daily monitoring of Title I student achievement and learner behaviors to ensure academic success.
- Facilitates Title I student learning toward success in academic, interpersonal, and daily living skills through defined lesson and behavior plans.
- Maintains confidential and non‑confidential manual and electronic records for up‑to‑date information and historical reference in accordance with administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Manages student behavior to provide a safe and optimal learning environment and comply with district policies.
- Models appropriate behaviors and responsibilities to demonstrate appropriate social and interpersonal behavior.
- Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (classroom, playground, field trips) to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
- Participates in meetings as assigned by administrators or district personnel (PLC, staff, PTA) to convey and gather information required to perform functions.
- Prepares written materials (behavior plans, grades, attendance, progress reports) to document student progress and meet mandated requirements.
- Provides direct services to Title I students whose behaviors significantly interfere with academic growth in core content areas.
- Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns or direct to appropriate personnel.
- Responds to inquiries from teachers, students, parents, administrators, and others to resolve issues, provide information, and direct appropriately.
Other Functions Performs other related duties for the purpose of ensuring efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
