Position Summary Information

General Description of Position
- Under the general direction and supervision of the SNAP Employment & Training Manager, the Career Skills Coach provides comprehensive case management, career coaching, and participant support services for the SNAP Employment & Training (SNAPE&T), GAP Assistance, and other programs at Southeast Community College. This position serves as a point of contact for participants, guiding them through educational pathways, skills training, and employment planning to support the attainment of educational and industry-recognized credentials and sustainable employment.

The Career Skills Coach works collaboratively with internal departments, instructors, and community partners to ensure alignment between participant goals, training opportunities, and workforce needs. This role supports participant success by coordinating access to resources, monitoring progress, and facilitating successful transitions from education and training into employment across multiple funding streams. This is a full-time, temporary, grant-funded position, funded through March 2027.

Essential Functions
- Intake & Individualized Career Planning Conduct intake, orientation, and eligibility determination in accordance with program requirements. Develop individualized education and employment plans. Meet with participants regularly to monitor progress. Identify and address barriers to education and employment. Assessment & Skill Development Administer assessments and other required evaluations. Provide job readiness coaching including resume writing and interview preparation. Coordinate referrals for tutoring, financial assistance, childcare, transportation, or other supports.

Employment & Placement Support Coordinate with the Career Placement Coordinator to support job placement, employer connections, and work-based learning opportunities. Support collaboration with faculty, workforce partners, and SCC's Apprentice Program to identify employment and apprenticeship opportunities. Support transitions from training to employment. Data Tracking & Compliance Ensure timely and accurate data entry into required systems Maintain compliance with documentation standards and audit requirements.

Track attendance, credential attainment, and employment outcomes. Ensure program integrity and compliance with all college, state, and federal directives to ensure a successful program. Collaboration Collaborate with SCC instructors, staff, and internal support programs. Connect students to campus and community resources. Participate in team meetings and program evaluation activities. Professional Growth Participate in professional conferences and meetings; maintain liaisons with national, regional, state, and local agencies in workforce and educational opportunities.

Marginal Functions
- Participates in local, state, and regional associations and other groups related to workforce development, career coaching, case management, and student success. Provides information and guidance to faculty, staff, and community partners regarding participant support services, retention strategies, and workforce pathways, as requested. Assists in identifying and maintaining resource materials and referral information to support participant success, including education, training, and support services.
