Educational Specialist
The Education Specialist works in the High Schools within the Lincoln Metro area to support students within the TRIO Upward Bound program. As an Education Specialist, you will:
- Formulate and implement an educational plan that addresses each participant's individualized academic, educational, and leadership needs and interests
- Provide academic advising and instructional support that enables participants to be retained with the program
- Develop and implement college preparatory activities and programs
- Actively assist in the development and implementation of the Upward Bound summer program at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln
- Assist program participants with Post Secondary Pathway planning

Minimum
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, community services, human development, or related field. Experience providing educational learning activities—improve academic performance, organizes educational planning, and preparation for enrollment in post-secondary education. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to drive a 12-passenger van. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirement as well as a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree. Fluent in a second language other than English. Demonstrate ability to communicate with high school aged youth. Experience in working with school staff, and parents/guardians. Experience in assessing student needs. Experience working with TRIO programs.
