Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Basic to moderate computer literacy/competency; ability to learn and work within computerized tracking/business systems for inventory management, parts ordering, and component listing.
- Conceptual and logical thinking; organized and able to multi‑task and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel extensively; may be required to travel on short notice to customer locations across the U.S. and potentially internationally as skill set matures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to listen, respond professionally to customer concerns.
- Strong technical skill set and ability to problem‑solve mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Post‑high‑school technical schooling or accreditation; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field.
- Experience as a customer service or field service representative in a problem‑solving and/or technical role.
- Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing methodologies, Kanban, 5‑S, Process Flow/Value Stream Mapping.
- Serve as point person with customers, addressing concerns and needs.
- Provide real‑time technical support—including mechanical, electrical, and programming—to solve customer issues and achieve resolution while maintaining financial and resource balance.
- Assist with the return of parts from customers, investigate reasons for returns, and coordinate repairs.
- Serve as liaison with vendors and suppliers, communicating issues, deadlines, and dates.
- Assist with communication, coordination, and shipment of needed parts to customers.
- Train and educate customers on the use/application of Norland products.
- Capture customer concerns in the Quality Assurance NCP/CAPA database.
- Use current and any new CRM/ERP/Inventory software to document communications, parts sales, incidents, and other customer interactions.
- When serving as a field technician, complete installation parts lists to ensure arrival with needed support equipment and tools; serve as company liaison and complete related reports.
- Assist with writing troubleshooting and maintenance bulletins for Norland equipment manuals as time permits.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and maintain product quality outcomes.
- Actively support and enforce plant safety processes and practices.
- Support Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the success of the business and team by accomplishing individual accountabilities and results.
- Other duties as assigned.
