TheR&D Engineer I, with supervision, plans, develops, coordinates and directs small to medium engineering projects using established policies, procedures and Best Practices. This position prepares engineering data in accordance with manufacturer specifications and instruction manuals, FAA regulations, Duncan Aviation approved procedures, acceptable industry practices, and customer expectations. In addition, the engineer makes engineering decisions with guidance based on data, experience and mathematical analysis;
provides engineering technical assistance; supports test equipment, project technical reviews and surveys; demonstrates a high level of commitment to customer service and satisfaction; and consistently maintains a positive attitude and uses open and honest communication techniques. This position leads by example, fostering a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement to peers and other employees; and accepts responsibility, demonstrates initiative and attention to detail, and projects a professional image consistent with the company's and department's identity, mission and goals.
Job Functions
Assists less experienced and new staff to increase the overall skill level of the team on a day‑to‑day basis.
Assists production teams with system turn‑on, troubleshooting and testing.

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year engineering experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Software (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.), Solid Works and/or AutoCAD
