Job Title
Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety | Participates in cross-functional teams to assess technical needs and feasibility | Designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans | Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability | Lays out and draws schematic or angle views to review functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems and machines This position is located at our Main Plant facility.

Essential FunctionsUsing engineering techniques, helps to design, maintain, or improve new or existing products and/or components.
Designs, models, and tests prototypes for products.
Conducts research and creates design proposals for projects.
Establishes design briefs.
Creates concepts, performance, and production criteria. Identifies and selects materials needed for production.
Makes samples of working models for demonstration.
Recommends appropriate production processes and improves usability of the product.
Required QualificationsRequired education and experience:
Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience
Discipline/Major:
Engineering degree required
Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred education and experience:
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Technical skills. Oral and written communications skills. Vision. Creativity. Ability to meet deadlines. Planning skills.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
Travel RequirementsUp to 25% travel likely.
