Job DescriptionWe’re recruiting for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Institutional Retirement Finance team. In this role you’ll work closely with our PRT Investments function (including key members of the Investments Leadership Team), acting as a trusted partner by providing clear, insightful financial challenge and guidance around key investment decisions, financial performance and ensuring that outcomes are well‑understood across IFRS and Solvency II metrics.
The specific responsibilities of this role may also evolve over time in line with the demand from the business, so an agile mindset and an ability to thrive in a changing environment are also key.
This role is a Hybrid working opportunity, which will allow you to split your working week between your home and our London office to find a work-life balance that works for you.
What you'll be doing:
- Building strong partnerships with the Investments Leadership Team and the wider Finance community to help bridge the gap between Investments and Finance
- Providing clear financial insight, challenge and advice across a range of asset classes (such as - property/real estate, structured products, private credit, sovereigns, traded credit and derivatives)
- Translating investment decisions into impacts on IFRS earnings, capital, liquidity and CSM, including providing advice on how portfolio choices affect these metrics
- Leading the development of forward‑looking financial analysis, forecasts and business plans that include clear, action‑oriented commentary that answers the questions around “the what?” for Senior Leaders
- Coordinating and reviewing MI, ensuring accuracy, clarity and meaningful commentary are included
- Supporting change initiatives and project activity by providing Finance SME support to Investment-related (and broader as required) project work and new initiatives
- Providing positive influence across teams/stakeholders, guiding/coaching junior colleagues and driving continuous improvement
- Maintaining strong governance, controls and documentation across Finance and Investments related initiatives
Who we're looking for:
- Qualified Actuary (FIA / FFA /equivalent), CFA or Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / equivalent), with strong technical and commercial understanding
- Expertise in IFRS 17 (profit drivers, CSM, risk adjustment, onerous contract identification, discount rate calculation), IFRS 9 (classification and measurement of financial instruments) and Solvency II/Solvency UK (capital/liquidity concepts, including Matching Adjustment in a bulk annuity or life insurance context)
