Position: Occupational Therapist/ Certified Hand Therapist (FT) at Nebraska Orthopaedic Center

Position Overview

Nebraska Orthopaedic Center is seeking a full-time licensed Occupational Therapist or Certified Hand Therapist to join our outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation team. This role is ideal for a motivated clinician who is passionate about helping patients restore function, improve independence, and return to meaningful daily activities.

You will work closely with orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and support staff in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations to identify impairments, functional limitations, and activity restrictions.
  • Develop and implement goal-driven, individualized treatment plans for orthopedic and upper-extremity conditions.
  • Deliver skilled occupational therapy and hand therapy interventions using best-practice, evidence-based techniques.
  • Provide functional training to support return to daily activities, work, and recreational tasks.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive strategies, home exercise programs, and injury prevention.
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care and effective communication of patient progress.
  • Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with clinic and regulatory standards.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and supportive rehabilitation experience for every patient.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and contribute to a culture of clinical excellence as the new clinic launches and grows.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
  • Valid Nebraska Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred, but not required.
  • Experience in outpatient orthopedic and/or hand therapy preferred.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also thriving in a multidisciplinary, team-based orthopedic practice.
  • Passion for empowering patients to regain function, independence, and confidence in daily life.
