Job Title: Outpatient Therapist/Counselor (PRN)
Reports To: Program Director
Location: Northpoint Lincoln
Schedule: As needed Monday‑Friday
Compensation: $27‑45 per hour
Northpoint Recovery Holdings, LLC is a leading behavioral healthcare provider delivering evidence‑based treatment for adults with substance use and co‑occurring disorders and mental health treatment for adolescents. The organization operates under an in‑network, commercial insurance model and has expanded to seventeen facilities across the Western U.S.
Position SummaryThe Therapist/Counselor serves as a key member of the Northpoint team, overseeing therapeutic services for a caseload of clients. The role coordinates the development and implementation of master treatment and discharge plans, provides individual, group, and family therapy, and collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies. Documentation and compliance activities are central responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties- Provide counseling, assessments and group facilitation to individuals and families.
- Coordinate all aspects of direct clinical care from admission to discharge.
- Consult with the multidisciplinary treatment team to provide quality client care.
- Provide orientation and education to clients, families and others to aid in the therapeutic process.
- Collaborate with assigned clients in the development of written treatment plans; include client and family involvement in assessment, treatment, education and discharge planning.
- Monitor clients on an ongoing basis to continually assess needs and facilitate treatment and interventions.
- Document clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, diagnostic summaries, and progress charting in a timely manner to assure comprehensive and quality client care.
- Actively participate as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain effective working relationships with employees and peers.
- Maintain professional boundaries with clients at all times.
- Oversee and participate in the quality assurance and compliance activities of the facility.
- Provide clinical updates to utilization review and representatives of managed care to best coordinate reimbursement of treatment services.
- Coordinate with community‑based providers and referral sources to ensure optimal levels of care and treatment outcomes, post discharge.
- Case staffing and individual case supervision.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies and procedures and standards of care.
- Other clinically appropriate services and special projects as assigned.
- Master’s Degree in Mental Health or Social Sciences, or commensurate experience.
- Must hold an active substance use or mental health licensure in the state where treatment services are rendered.
- Must maintain applicable state licensure requirements at hire, and for the entire duration of employment.
- 1+ year of experience in a relevant field.
- Ability to work with a diverse population and possess strong interpersonal skills required for treating assigned clients.
- Must hold strong personal boundaries and be able to build rapport with patients.
- Must understand and adhere to the ethical standards of the respective licensure governing board.
