Position: Mental Health Clinician I

Mental Health Clinician I

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals within the criminal justice system? Join the dedicated team at the Lancaster County Corrections Adult Detention Facility as a Mental Health Clinician I. This professional human services and counseling position offers a unique opportunity to utilize a variety of treatment modalities to assist clients in solving varied behavioral health problems.

Hours:

Full time, 40 hours per week. M-F; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based cognitive behavioral treatment interventions for inmates in the Lancaster County Jail.
  • Address and treat substance use issues, criminogenic risk, and other underlying behavioral health needs.
  • Facilitating the Inception to Substance Recovery and Substance Treatment Recovery programs. Delivery of various topics which include group sessions addressing exercise, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills, emotional health topics, team building, assertive communications, codependency, personal change plans, addiction topics and relapse prevention strategies, trauma education and support, moral reconation therapy, and anger and violence education.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team and/or committee meetings to coordinate service delivery and agency functioning.

PLMHP/LMHP or LADC preferred.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology or related field supplemented by a Master's Degree in social work, psychology or related field plus six months of experience counseling clients in a mental health/social service program or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Benefits

Employees must work a least 30 hours per week to be eligible for insurance benefits. Vacation leave, sick leave, and holidays are prorated for part time employees based upon the hours worked per week. Temporary, seasonal, and on-call employees are not eligible for benefits.
