Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous Lab Technician to follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with precision and efficiency. The role involves recording, interpreting, and entering test results accurately and responsibly using specified forms and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software. The Lab Technician will perform analytical and sensory tests on in-process and finished products and report any data inconsistencies promptly.
Responsibilities
+ Record, interpret, and enter test results accurately using specified forms and LIMS software.
+ Perform analytical and sensory tests on in-process and finished products with precision.
+ Identify and report data inconsistencies to necessary personnel and escalate as required.
+ Receive, handle, and store samples appropriately.
+ Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot problems, and take corrective action when necessary.
+ Handle, organize, and store chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to Safety Data Sheets.
+ Work independently and collaboratively to verify testing, standards, equipment, and instruments for accurate performance.
+ Participate in proficiency and collaborative testing.
+ Take on additional and new tasks with minimal supervision.
+ Maintain a neat, clean, and professional-looking work area.
+ Retain samples of tested products to confirm test results when necessary.
+ Ensure adequate supplies for testing and notify management when reordering is needed.
+ Compare test results with standards to ensure all products meet specifications.
Essential Skills
+ Strong proficiency in laboratory and quality control procedures.
+ Understanding of biology and quality assurance principles.
+ Basic computer operation skills, including MS Office applications and various software programs for instruments.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED required, Associate's degree in applied science preferred.
+ Preferred experience in an analytical laboratory setting.
Work Environment
Training will occur Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM, with a swing shift schedule between 2nd and 3rd shifts following training. Training duration ranges from 4 to 12 weeks, with 6 to 8 weeks being the average.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Lincoln, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
