Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this leader will oversee all aspects of Human Resources, including compliance, employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management, organizational development, and HR operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR leader who enjoys partnering with leadership, coaching managers, improving organizational effectiveness, and fostering an engaging workplace culture.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute the organization's human resources strategy in alignment with agency goals.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, OSHA, workers' compensation, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead employee relations, investigations, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Direct recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Oversee compensation programs, benefits administration, payroll collaboration, and HRIS processes.
- Design and implement leadership development and employee training programs.
- Lead and mentor the Human Resources team while supporting leaders throughout the organization.
- Partner with executive leadership on organizational planning, employee engagement, succession planning, and culture initiatives.
- Manage HR budgets, reporting, audits, vendor relationships, and strategic HR projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Five or more years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.
- Experience supporting organizations with approximately 150+ employees preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.
- Proven leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational development skills.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred.
- Experience with in a nonprofit organization is preferred but not required.
