Job Posting: IT Business Systems Analyst
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Business Systems Analyst to work closely with business users, technical teams, and vendors to analyze business needs and design effective web-based solutions. This role focuses on requirements gathering, system design, testing, documentation, and production support for internal and public-facing web applications.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can translate business goals into clear technical requirements and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities- Work directly with business users to understand objectives, gather detailed requirements, and document clear functional and business requirements
- Define and document user stories, functional requirements, and business goals for web application development
- Recommend and implement strategies to enhance website functionality, user experience, and performance
- Propose and design technical web applications, including site structure, features, and user flows
- Design reports and dashboards to support business leadership needs
- Act as a liaison between application developers, business users, and vendors to analyze and design new or enhanced system functionality
- Research, analyze, and communicate existing business processes
- Collaborate with technical architects to propose sound technical solutions
- Create and execute detailed system test cases to validate requirements
- Develop and maintain system and training documentation
- Provide IT production support, including issue investigation, testing fixes, and delivering resolutions to end users
- Post–high school coursework, training, or experience in:
- Business process analysis
- System requirements analysis
- Business process application development
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Solutions Analyst
- Experience with full-scale web design and development for internal and public-facing applications
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies
- Experience working with DHHS systems
- Knowledge of Clarity, Workfront, and Jira
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, SharePoint)
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical audiences (written and verbal)
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Experience working with multiple levels of business and technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
- Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent projects
- Hybrid preferred — candidate should be available to work onsite as needed
