The Senior Test Analyst will be responsible responsible for validating the integrated Endeavour Data Platform (EDP) built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Reporting to the Test Lead/Test Manager, you will become an expert in the systems and test processes, providing regular feedback on software quality, defects and execution status. This role involves analyzing complex data flows from source ingestion to business consumption, ensuring data accuracy across all layers.

This position will be part of the Data Program.

You will be empowered to challenge project teams to ensure high software quality and provide technical support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), raising testing risks or those that affect testing timelines or outcomes.

As a key member of the Enterprise Testing team, you will also contribute to the future state testing capability, providing valuable input to continuous improvement initiatives such as test automation, continuous testing, quality metrics and Agile testing.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

• Requirements Validation:
  Analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and High-Level Designs (HLDs) to ensure requirements are buildable and testable for end-to-end data flows.

• Test Design & Execution:
  Design and execute comprehensive test scenarios tracing data from sources (WDP, SAP) through Big Query layers to consumption points like Tableau.

• GCP Technical Testing:
  Perform extensive validation of Big Query (partitioning/clustering), Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer (Airflow) DAG orchestration.

• Integration Testing:
  Validate inbound/outbound interfaces, including Woolworths Data Platform (WDP) 1:1 views, SAP systems (ECC, CAR, PMR), and third-party providers.

• Defect Management:
  Identify, log, and track defects in JIRA, providing detailed evidence and collaborating with engineering teams to triage and resolve issues.

• UAT Support:
  Provide technical assistance to business users, helping investigate issues to determine if they are genuine defects or data gaps.

• Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
  Work closely with external testing vendors, maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in engineering/technology, operations, and business.

• Shift Left Testing:
  Observe and suggest opportunities for seeking feedback on software quality as early as possible in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for faster feedback and early defect detection.

• Continuous Improvement:
  Champion continuous improvement in testing practices by evaluating emerging tools, processes and technologies, assessing their feasibility, and incorporating them into the testing ecosystem.

• Reporting & Metrics:
  Define and track relevant metrics for test delivery, reporting progress to stakeholders and using insights to refine strategies and improve test coverage and execution efficiency.

Essential Experience and Skills

• GCP Data Testing :
  Experience test planning and executing with strong experience testing data warehouses and platforms specifically within a GCP environment.

• Advanced SQL:
  Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data validation, specifically for Big Query.

• Data Modeling:
  Understanding of dimensional modeling and ETL/ELT transformation processes.

• Integration:
  Experience in understanding integration specification, designing integration tests and executing integration test cases.

• Methodologies:
  Strong background in Agile, Dev Ops practices, and experience with Shift Left and Shift Right testing.
