You will serve as a key developer on the project, collaborating to take CI Atlas from vision to reality.
Beyond development, you will manage NCFF's self-hosted applications, server infrastructure, and drive technology adoption to ensure staff get real value from the solutions we build and deploy.

- Code Quality &
Collaboration:
Write tests, participate in code reviews, support data model work, and maintain documentation for the applications you help build. - Server & Infrastructure Administration: Administer Ubuntu servers, maintain Docker containers and self-hosted applications (including Leantime, WikiJS, Snipe-IT, Moodle, and others), perform updates and backups, and monitor system health.
- Database Support: Support Postgre
SQL database operations, including basic performance monitoring, query troubleshooting, and ensuring data integrity across environments. - M365 & Cloud Platform Support: Assist with SharePoint administration, Teams configuration, and Entra in coordination with NCFF’s managed service provider.
- Technology Adoption & Enablement: Help staff understand how to use organizational tools effectively to support their work through coaching, creating how-to guides and documentation, and helping ensure adoption targets are met for CI Atlas modules and other platforms.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across initiative teams to understand their technology needs, gather feedback on deployed solutions, and help translate operational requirements into technical improvements.
- Compliance & Security Awareness: Support the department’s efforts to document and maintain compliance with data security, privacy, and contractual obligations across systems and platforms.
- Working knowledge of Python and at least one web framework.
- Basic Linux server administration skills (comfort with the command line, SSH, package management).
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize across concurrent projects, and ask good questions when you need clarity.
- Comfort with writing and following documentation, including process guides, system runbooks, and user-facing how-to materials.
- Demonstrated curiosity and a track record of picking up new technologies through self-directed learning, whether through personal projects, coursework, or previous roles.
- Basic understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance concepts.
- Must reside in Nebraska.
- Experience with Django, FastAPI, or Flask (Django preferred)
- Experience with Django REST Framework and/or Vue.js/Nuxt.
- M365 experience (SharePoint, Teams, M365 Suite).
- Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with reverse proxies (Traefik, Nginx, or Caddy).
- Experience supporting end users in a help desk, IT support, or technology enablement capacity.
- Experience working with REST APIs.
- Understanding of data governance or compliance frameworks.
- Experience in nonprofit, government, or social services environments.
- A homelab, personal project portfolio, or other evidence of building things.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or automated deployment workflows.
- Experience creating user-facing documentation, training materials, or knowledge base content.
