Nebraska Children seeks a technology enthusiast to join our Operations & IT Solutions department. As the Technology Solutions Lead, you will take ownership of key technology work streams within the Operations & IT Solutions department. Our flagship workstream for 2026 is CI Atlas, an ERP purpose-built for Collective Impact backbone organizations. You will serve as a key developer on the project, collaborating to take CI Atlas from vision to reality.

Beyond development, you will manage NCFF's self-hosted applications, server infrastructure, and drive technology adoption to ensure staff get real value from the solutions we build and deploy.

Responsibilities
  • Application Development: Contribute to the development of CI Atlas (Django backend, Nuxt frontend), building and maintaining features across core modules including contact management, reporting, and the Statewide Plan portal.
  • Code Quality &

    Collaboration:

    Write tests, participate in code reviews, support data model work, and maintain documentation for the applications you help build.
  • Server & Infrastructure Administration: Administer Ubuntu servers, maintain Docker containers and self-hosted applications (including Leantime, WikiJS, Snipe-IT, Moodle, and others), perform updates and backups, and monitor system health.
  • Database Support: Support Postgre

    SQL database operations, including basic performance monitoring, query troubleshooting, and ensuring data integrity across environments.
  • M365 & Cloud Platform Support: Assist with SharePoint administration, Teams configuration, and Entra  in coordination with NCFF’s managed service provider.
  • Technology Adoption & Enablement: Help staff understand how to use organizational tools effectively to support their work through coaching, creating how-to guides and documentation, and helping ensure adoption targets are met for CI Atlas modules and other platforms.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work across initiative teams to understand their technology needs, gather feedback on deployed solutions, and help translate operational requirements into technical improvements.
  • Compliance & Security Awareness: Support the department’s efforts to document and maintain compliance with data security, privacy, and contractual obligations across systems and platforms.
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Working knowledge of Python and at least one web framework.
  • Basic Linux server administration skills (comfort with the command line, SSH, package management).
  • Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize across concurrent projects, and ask good questions when you need clarity.
  • Comfort with writing and following documentation, including process guides, system runbooks, and user-facing how-to materials.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and a track record of picking up new technologies through self-directed learning, whether through personal projects, coursework, or previous roles.
  • Basic understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance concepts.
  • Must reside in Nebraska.
Preferred Skills / Abilities
  • Experience with Django, FastAPI, or Flask (Django preferred)
  • Experience with Django REST Framework and/or Vue.js/Nuxt.
  • M365 experience (SharePoint, Teams, M365 Suite).
  • Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Familiarity with reverse proxies (Traefik, Nginx, or Caddy).
  • Experience supporting end users in a help desk, IT support, or technology enablement capacity.
  • Experience working with REST APIs.
  • Understanding of data governance or compliance frameworks.
  • Experience in nonprofit, government, or social services environments.
  • A homelab, personal project portfolio, or other evidence of building things.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or automated deployment workflows.
  • Experience creating user-facing documentation, training materials, or knowledge base content.
