Job DescriptionThe DHHS Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department is seeking an experienced IT Supervisor to lead our Azure Development Team. This position is responsible for managing a team that designs, develops, and supports cloud-based applications, including iServe Nebraska and other critical systems. The team’s work includes requirements gathering, application development, testing, and maintenance within the Azure environment, as well as supporting internally developed tools and applications.

LocationThis is an in-office position. This position can be located within Lincoln or Omaha, Nebraska.
Examples Of Work- Supervise and guide a team of Azure developers and technical professionals.
- Oversee the full application lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices for software development, usability, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high‑quality solutions.
- Manage team performance, professional development, and mentoring initiatives.
- Coordinate project plans, resource allocation, and timelines for multiple initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with audit requirements and respond to oversight reviews.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement processes related to IT services.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience in a related information technology discipline (network infrastructure, coding, systems or database); experience can be substituted for education on a year for year basis, one year of which as a project coordinator, leader, or supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications- 1+ years supervising IT technical staff and business analysts.
- Strong background in systems development, maintenance, and operations processes.
- Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Experience in large‑scale IT environments and complex system analysis/design.
- Project management expertise, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Ability to manage audits, compliance processes, and vendor contracts.
- Knowledge of state procurement processes and IT vendor management.
- Experience with DHHS information systems is a plus.
- Azure Cloud development principles and programming techniques.
- Industry standards and best practices for application design, usability, and maintenance.
- DHHS program rules, regulations, and service delivery requirements.
- Employee development strategies and goal-setting.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
- Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
- Lead and motivate technical teams.
- Adapt to evolving technologies and multiple project initiatives.
- Maintain professionalism and effective communication across all organizational levels.
