The Software QA Specialist II oversees the quality of products produced by the Software Development Team. This position focuses on process improvements that result in high quality production operation of software products. In addition, the Software QA Specialist II monitors for and reports on quality issues and is responsible for ensuring the team's processes change to avoid repeated issues. The Specialist II works with minimal supervision and has a solid understanding of the products’ business domain.
This position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates to work remotely for part of the week, while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence in our Draper Utah office. The in-office requirement will fluctuate depending on the current need of the rotation and offers flexibility for candidates still attending college courses on campus through graduation.

* JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
** 1.
Work effectively to define testable user stories that includes test cases and acceptance criteria.
2.
Review automated test cases created to ensure they are adequate to enable a high-quality, continuous deployment process.
3.
Monitor software logs, metrics and performance data for issues or opportunities to improve software quality. 4.
Triage, validate, and track bugs or issues that are reported to the team.
5.
Leads “after action” reviews to ensure the team is learning from issues and improving their QA practices. 6.
Ensure the product meets UX design standards and accessibility guidelines. 7.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in automated tests. 8.
Conduct manual and exploratory testing to validate quality and coverage of automated tests. 9.
Contribute to automated test standards and best practices. 10.
Create and develop learning material to aid other Software QA Specialists.

* EDUCATION:
** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

* EXPERIENCE:
*
* • 3+ years of experience with NBS products or similar position at another company.
• 1+ years of experience reading and understanding programming languages.
• 1+ years of experience with database querying (e.g., SQL or Mongo
DB).
** COMPETENCIES – SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
** 1.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure. 2.
Understanding of business requirements and how they relate to technical requirements.
