Job Description

Under limited supervision of the Director of IT Infrastructure, the IT Cloud Engineer designs, implements, and manages scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions. The role involves collaborating with internal teams to understand requirements, providing architectural guidance, ensuring alignment with best practices, and overseeing migration of existing systems to the cloud.

  • Deep expertise in AWS, GCP, and Azure services, cloud infrastructure, and Dev Ops practices.
  • Passion for leveraging cloud technology to improve performance, security, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using cloud services tools and automate deployments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define the organization’s cloud strategy and ensure alignment with security policies.
  • Lead cloud migration projects and evaluate on‑premises workloads.
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, scalability, and cost‑efficiency.
  • Create detailed documentation for architecture designs, configurations, and processes.
  • Train and mentor team members on cloud architecture best practices.
  • Define and enforce governance practices to maintain data integrity and security.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement strategies for server management, monitoring, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; 3+ years of experience in cloud architecture.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud infrastructure solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Knowledge
  • Cloud Architect certifications such as Cloud Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Dev Ops Engineer, or Certified Sys Ops Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of core cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, Cloud Formation, Cloud Watch).
  • Understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, VPNs, Security Groups, and Network ACLs.
  • Familiarity with Dev Ops tools and practices and proficiency in Infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud solutions and integration with on‑premises environments.
Skills
  • Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, CDK).
  • Experience with Dev Ops and CI/CD practices and tools (Jenkins, Git Lab CI, AWS Code Pipeline).
  • Scripting and automation experience with Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience with containerization and microservices.
  • Understanding of Zero Trust security models and related tools.
  • Strong problem‑solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
