Computing Specialist

Requirements

• We require the ability to obtain a Secret clearance before the award date.
• We require a high school diploma and at least six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business and three years of related experience.
• We expect proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Excel.
• We prefer candidates with an IT security certification.
• We value experience with Navy ERP.

• We serve as the primary technical point of contact for approximately 500 scientists and engineers using HPC environments, providing user support and outreach.
• We create, manage, and remove user accounts while maintaining credential records for both unclassified and classified systems.
• We monitor, report, and reconcile CPU‑hour usage across users, projects, and allocations, and maintain usage logs and dashboards.
• We assign CPU hours based on government priorities and leadership guidance, then communicate allocation changes as needed.
• We coordinate with the security office to confirm user clearances, credentials, and authorization for access to classified computing resources.
• We support Program Officers in developing plans, technical approaches, budgets, performance metrics, and improvement actions.
• We draft, track, and report technical milestones for HPC work streams, comparing planned progress with actual results and identifying variances.
• We assist with solicitation development by drafting calls, gathering white papers and proposals, checking required documentation, and preparing evaluation materials.
• We maintain an electronic repository of proposals, contracts, deliverables, correspondence, policy guidance, and archived records.
• We prepare program content for budgets, leadership briefings, congressional materials, data calls, program pitches, and appeals.
• We develop capability and technology roadmaps and align portfolio activities with DoD and DON strategy documents for government review.
• We track performer progress by monitoring deliverables, following up on submissions, reviewing reports, providing feedback, and uploading materials to the repository.
• We plan and support program reviews, technical and financial reviews, site visits, demonstrations, and field experiments, including agendas, notes, and summaries.
• We produce analyses, summaries, and impact assessments of research investments, and draft presentations, success stories, and recommended follow‑on actions.
• We organize and coordinate meetings.
• We manage classified meeting and material logistics and support outreach and communication products such as graphics, posters, web content, and briefings.

We are seeking a full‑time High Performance Computing Specialist to support a government customer based in Arlington, VA, with possible remote opportunities in an exempt role. This position offers the chance to work closely with scientists, engineers, program leaders, and security stakeholders in a highly collaborative environment focused on HPC operations, program coordination, and technical support.
