Network Engineer
At ALLO we bring a modern fiber network to customers in the United States. We expect the Network Engineer to apply deep knowledge of networking protocols to troubleshoot and repair network issues.
Responsibilities- Perform escalated network repairs and escalated issue resolution for network and application problems.
- Analyze complex network designs and issues, providing short and long term resolution plans.
- Maintain network standards as documented, providing technical feedback to engineering on design and product enhancements.
- Manage mid‑range projects with minimal supervision, including operating procedures (O.P.) reviews, software/hardware upgrades, and maintenance scheduling.
- Conduct detailed method of procedures (MOP) reviews and event de‑confliction to ensure minimal customer impact during scheduled maintenances.
- Work with vendors to determine root causes and develop corrective action plans.
Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience- At least two years of Layer 1‑3 network engineering experience in a Tier1 or Tier2 environment.
- Strong TCP/IP knowledge and understanding of data/IP networks.
- Industry certifications desired: MEF, Cisco, MPLS, Fortinet, VoIP, Video.
- Strong leadership, administrative, multitasking, planning, and organizing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in troubleshooting methodologies and problem analysis.
- Ability to work in a high‑pressure, short‑timeline environment and manage aggressive customers.
- Experience with Ethernet circuit knowledge and advanced computer skills.
- Shift work and on‑call flexibility.
- Attention to detail.
- Remain stationary for extended periods.
- Operate a computer and effectively communicate information.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and pass a fingerprint‑based background check.
