EXECUTIVE AGENCY COUNSEL - 95005

Director Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all members of service receive the most up-to-date trainings and best practices surrounding response and Investigation of sexual violence, child abuse, and human trafficking offenses
  • Liaise with advocacy groups and survivors to gather feedback on the Department's services, and help shape new programming
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to enhance sexual violence, child abuse, and human trafficking awareness and prevention through community advocacy
  • Collaborate with legislators, advocacy organizations, survivors, and service providers to Inform and advance legislative and policy goals aimed at preventing sexual violence, child abuse, and human trafficking, and strengthening intervention mechanisms
  • Coordinate various reporting on sexual violence and child abuse statistics and programs, including those mandated by New York State, New York City and other governing bodies
  • Work closely with the Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence to support citywide sexual violence, child abuse, and human trafficking prevention and awareness
Minimum Qualifications

Admission to the New York State Bar; and four years of recent full-time responsible, relevant, satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar, eighteen months of which must have been in the supervision of other attorneys, in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity, or performing highly complex and significant legal work.
Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment.

Preferred Skills
  • Applicants must be admitted and in good standing in New York State and must have substantial legal experience following graduation from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Experience with sexual violence and child physical and sexual abuse investigations and prosecutions.
  • E1

    Cperience In sexual anti-violence advocacy, legislative advocacy, policy implementation, and education at an advocacy organization
  • Ability to think creatively, embrace new approaches and pioneer Innovative solutions to intricate problems.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, literature reviews and memorandums.
