Job SummaryThe Housekeeping Aide at Emerald Nursing & Rehab Lancaster is a crucial member of our skilled nursing team, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. This role encompasses housekeeping duties, ensuring that all areas of the facility meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene while managing residents' needs efficiently.
Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.
Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting floors, surfaces, and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used properly and stored safely. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the facility maintenance team.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining an organized storage area for cleaning supplies.
- Adhere to safety and sanitation regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, family members, and staff. Maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the facility.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, especially in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility, is an advantage.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage time effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards working with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving items.
