Facilities Manager

Job Posting Information Join our team of professionals and work with a progressive, dynamic agency as Facilities Manager with Lancaster County Corrections. The work involves planning, directing and supervising the work of skilled maintenance workers performing maintenance and repair functions, grounds upkeep and equipment repair. Work includes preparing bid specifications and monitoring projects for compliance with specifications at the Adult Detention Facility in Lincoln.

Supervision is received from an administrative superior with work being reviewed in the form of reports, conferences, and results achieved. Supervision is exercised over supervisory, trades and support staff members. Requires the ability to closely follow security procedures and work responsibly and independently. Possession of journey or master level electrician, plumbing, or HVAC license is desired.

Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent plus four years of experience in building construction and maintenance work including 6 months of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the knowledge, abilities, and skills.

Special Requirements :
Must be a citizen of the United States and be at least nineteen (19) years of age or older. At the time of employment, must be fingerprinted and the fingerprint cards promptly submitted to the Nebraska State Patrol for a criminal history search; must be free of any convictions of crimes punishable by imprisonment in a state or federal penitentiary for a term of (1) year or more, from which a pardon has not been received.

Must submit to and successfully pass a substance abuse test. Must be examined by a licensed physician and meet the medical requirements of the Corrections Department. Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured by the County’s insurance carrier.

Employees must work a least 30 hours per week to be eligible for insurance benefits.

Vacation leave, sick leave, and holidays are prorated for part time employees based upon the hours worked per week.

Temporary, seasonal, and on-call employees are not eligible for benefits.
