This position is only open to candidates who are permanent or reachable on the list of exam # 1195 in the civil service title of Administrative Manager. Those serving in comparable civil service titles will also be considered.
The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (“BXDA”) is charged with the twin goals of ensuring public safety and striving for equal justice for the over 1.4 million members of the Bronx County community. By “Pursuing Justice with Integrity,” the BXDA places a focus on assistance for crime victims while simultaneously ensuring fairness to defendants. Moreover, the BXDA aims to balance the need to seek appropriate punishment for certain crimes while recognizing when punitive measures do not adequately advance justice.
By recognizing these significant distinctions and acting accordingly, BXDA has established a standard of excellence in the representation of the Bronx community at large, which continues to grow stronger every day. The BXDA is seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Chief of Human Resources Officer.
- Identify and implement industry best HR practices and make recommendations to the CHRO as necessary to improve existing HR processes.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to ensure HR initiatives support the Office’s strategies and goals.
- Advise and make recommendations to the CHRO on all matters pertaining to workforce administration, performance management, compensation, staffing, promotions, to ensure the efficient and effective resolution of HR issues in accordance with applicable laws, established rules and regulations.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that provide direction on the coordination of activities across all HR units to ensure consistent and high quality service delivery.
- Interact with Citywide agencies including, but not limited to:
Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and New York Citywide Automated Personnel System (NYCAPS) and other City agencies. - Ensure the efficient daily operations of all HR and personnel functions.
- Assist in the management of performance evaluation management, HR strategic planning, civil service hiring, and workforce planning.
- Work with the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) teams to ensure alignment of initiatives and foster a culture of inclusivity and respect.
