Lead a Service Operation Customers Can Count On

When a customer calls Kidwell for service, they aren't just looking for a technician. They're looking for someone to respond quickly, understand the problem, communicate clearly, and get the issue resolved. That's where great service leadership matters.

We're looking for a Service Manager who can lead a team, create operational discipline, solve problems, and make sure our customers receive the level of service they expect from Kidwell.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who enjoys making things work better. You'll lead our Service Coordinators, work closely with technicians and department leaders, manage customer escalations, and continually improve how we schedule, dispatch, communicate, and deliver service.

For more than 75 years, Kidwell has built its reputation by doing what we say we're going to do and taking care of our customers. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a leader who can help us raise the bar for what great service looks like.

About This Role

As Service Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day service operation for Kidwell's Integrated Systems Service team . You'll manage and develop the Service Coordinator while working closely with technicians, department managers, and customers to make sure service work moves from initial request to completed job efficiently and professionally.

You'll own service performance - including response times, scheduling, technician utilization, work order management, customer communication, invoicing and overall service experience.

Success in this role isn't simply about keeping the schedule full. It's about building a service operation that is responsive, organized, accountable, and consistently delivers for customers.

You'll work alongside experienced technicians, department leaders, project managers, estimators, and operations teams who understand the technical side of the work and rely on strong service leadership to keep everything moving.

You'll have the authority and responsibility to improve the operation rather than simply work around its problems.

Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Leading, developing, and holding the Service Coordinator team accountable for service performance.
  • Ensuring incoming service calls are responded to quickly and appropriately based on urgency and customer needs.
  • Maintaining strong visibility into technician schedules, capacity, geographic coverage, and workload.
  • Monitoring service level performance and taking action when commitments are at risk.
  • Making sure service work orders are properly created, scheduled, documented, completed, and closed.
  • Resolving customer concerns and escalations with urgency, professionalism, and ownership.
  • Improving technician utilization, service response times, work order completion, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Reviewing service backlog and identifying issues before they become customer problems.
  • Ensuring completed work is accurately documented and submitted for timely invoicing.
  • Monitoring service performance and financial results, including labor, materials, productivity, revenue, and gross margin.
  • Working closely with Electrical and Integrated Systems leadership to identify service opportunities and operational needs.
  • Developing Service Coordinators through clear expectations, coaching, feedback, and accountability.
  • Creating a service culture built around communication, urgency, ownership, and follow-through.
  • Identifying recurring problems and implementing practical solutions that improve the customer and employee experience.
Role Requirements
  • Experience leading people in a service, operations, construction, electrical, technology, or related environment.
  • Experience managing scheduling, dispatching, work orders, or field service operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of customer service and service delivery processes.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers,…
