Summary: The purpose of this job is to weld fabricated pipe components; meeting product specifications and quality requirements by applying appropriate welding techniques.
Wage Type: Hourly
FLSA Exemption: Non-exempt
Responsibilities- MIG & TIG welding, preferably AWS certified
- Ability to weld thin wall tube applications
- Experience welding stainless steel (3 and 4 series) and carbon steel
- Welding spare parts in various directions: flat, horizontal, vertical or overhead
- Clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, bolting, or grinding spare parts to satisfy technical/quality requirements
- Control the processes of fitting, burning and welding to avoid overheating, distortion, expansion or shrinkage of parts
- Examine finished products and spare parts to verify they meet specification requirements
- Prepare and set up necessary tools and equipment to weld
- Work within a team environment and train new welders as needed
- Good mechanical knowledge; ability to read blueprints is required
- Potential contact with hazardous chemicals
- Environmental responsibility is our commitment to our communities; proper disposal of waste is expected

Education and/or
Experience:
Required:
High school diploma or GED. Minimum of two years of related welding experience and/or training. Preferred: 5 years of production welding experience and AWS certification.
Communication
Skills:
- Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language
- Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to read and understand work instructions and safety procedures
Other
Skills:
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Job Category A – High Labor Intensive
- Must be able to perform physical functions equivalent to Category A
- Physical activities may include Rarely to Constant exertion across categories, with exposure to indoor environments, machine interfacing, computer interfacing, hot/cold weather, high humidity, chemical exposure, fumes, noise, dirty/dusty environments, steam, and other hazards
- Personal Protective Equipment is required
- Repetitive activities include bending, twisting, turning, pinching, gripping, vibration, and use of hand tools
- Physical capabilities include lifting up to 100 lbs, carrying up to 50 lbs, climbing, squatting, reaching, standing for long periods, and working above/below shoulder level
