Production Associate - Start ASAP

The Production Associate supports the manufacturing of large fiberglass tubes and related components in a high-volume industrial environment. This role involves setting up and operating production machinery, working with composites and plastics, and performing a variety of tasks across different areas such as gear box, molding, element, cut and bond, and packaging. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints and measurements accurately, and a commitment to following established safety procedures and standard operating processes.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate machines to shape composite materials and fiberglass tubes according to production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions to select, position, and secure machinery and materials correctly.
  • Adjust machine settings and parameters to complete tasks accurately and within specified tolerances.
  • Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform all job functions safely and consistently.
  • Work in the Gear Box area using math skills and a variety of measurement tools, including calipers and tape measures, to ensure precise dimensions.
  • Perform molding tasks, including working with plastics and sheet fiberglass, while maintaining a high level of independence and attention to detail.
  • Handle acetone and other cleaning agents safely when cleaning molds and equipment in molding operations.
  • Fill molds and perform repetitive tasks in the Element area, including blowing out dust from circular gears and ensuring molds are properly prepared.
  • Work in the Cut & Bond area using computers to scan and enter data, tracking production of approximately 20 parts per day.
  • Operate circular saws with a partner to cut materials, using tape measures to verify accurate cuts and adjusting machine settings as needed.
  • Perform packaging tasks, including lifting and handling items weighing up to 40 pounds, and preparing products for shipment.
  • Operate CNC, assembly, stamping, molding, or other automated production equipment as assigned.
  • Load jobs, select programs, and adjust machine parameters as required for different products and processes.
  • Load tooling, install fixtures, and confirm correct part orientation before and during machine operation.
  • Apply knowledge of machining, forming, assembly, or finishing processes depending on the product line and production area.
  • Identify and handle different materials, including metals, plastics, and various component types used in production.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for assembly, cutting, grinding, and other production tasks.
  • Read a tape measure down to 1/32 of an inch and convert fractions to decimals as needed for measurements and setup.
  • Perform basic inspection of parts and components to ensure they meet quality and specification requirements.
  • Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP), safety procedures, and standard operating procedures at all times.
  • Stand for extended periods (8+ hours per day) and work in a fast‑paced industrial environment with consistent productivity and quality expectations.
  • Participate in cross-training across multiple production areas to support flexible staffing and broader skill development.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ months of experience using calipers, micrometers, or other precision measurement tools.
  • 6+ months of experience working with composite materials.
  • 6+ months of experience in molding operations.
  • 6+ months of experience performing machine setup.
  • 6+ months of experience working with mills, lathes, or winders.
  • Experience in general production, assembly, and machine shop environments.
  • Familiarity with resin handling and winding processes.
  • Experience with saw operation and saw cutting in an industrial setting.
  • Experience with grinding and other finishing operations.
  • Basic program interaction skills, including loading and running machine programs.
  • Comfort working with acetone and other cleaning agents while following safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently in specific production areas while maintaining productivity.
