Position Summary
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will act as the primary point of contact and manager resources to execute work efficiently. Assist in budgeting, including financial transactions and reports.
Hours:
1st shift, 7:00am – 3:30pm (typical). Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required.
Position Responsibilities
Looking for a detail-focused technical expert who takes pride in a job well-done. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the success by planning and driving all necessary day-to-day activities.
- Plan and Schedule Maintenance Work:
Organize and schedule tasks for Maintenance Technicians, ensuring equipment availability, labor, skills, materials, and tools are accounted for. - Estimate Costs:
Provide labor, duration, and material cost estimates for maintenance work orders. - Financial:
Obtain quotes, create Purchase Order requests, process invoices, and resolve payment issues. - Prepare Documentation:
Compile and gather necessary documentation for planned work, including identifying special tools and obtaining blank work permits and parts. - Maintain CMMS:
Enter and maintain planned information in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). - Review Metrics:
Provide or review planning and scheduling metrics, understanding their impact on processes. - Coordinate Parts Availability:
Ensure parts are available before scheduling work for all major PMs. - Change Control:
Ensure GMP-related work orders and required work permits are approved.
Scheduling:
- Develop Work Schedules:
Create schedules that include PMs, corrective work orders, and work schedules. - Resource Allocation:
Ensure appropriate labor, skills, tools, and materials are available to match the proposed schedule. - Assign Work:
Assign tasks to technicians, ensuring all available labor hours are utilized. - Coordinate with Teams:
Work with Maintenance Team Leaders and other team members to ensure resource availability, adjusting labor or reassigning tasks as needed. - Adjust Schedules:
Assist Maintenance Team Leaders in making schedule adjustments to accommodate emergencies and unexpected work.
Education and Experience
You'll need to have:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- A technical aptitude
- Good communication skills and demeanor
Even better if you have:
- Associate degree in a technical field such as Electro-Mechanical.
- Relevant experience in Pharmaceutical or Food manufacturing.
- Experience with planning, scheduling, and financial transactions.
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
Highly motivated with effective leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated ability to interact with and positively influence internal and external work groups.
- Capable of maintaining poise and even temperament within a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, Adobe, and SAP.
- Ability to gather, sort, and analyze data for various purposes related to work organization and budgetary issues.
- Ability to interpret maps, blueprints, and schematics.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including work week, weekend, holiday, and overtime.
Physical Position Requirements
- SAFELY work in an industrial environment using approved procedures, i.e., Lockout/Tagout, confined space, line break, right to know, PPE, etc..
- Have experience with hand and power tools… it's Maintenance after all.
- Occasionally lift to 50 lbs.…never more.
- Work in areas that may be hot, cold, stinky, noisy, ultra-clean, or require additional PPE. May be exposed to temperature variations, prolonged standing, or walking.
- Valid drivers' license may be required.
