CNC Machinist – First Shift with Flexible Start Time
As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in the precise selection, measurement, assembly, and setting of machine tools such as drill bits and milling or cutting tools. Your expertise will ensure the alignment and secure installation of tools, attachments, and work pieces, utilizing hand tools and precision measuring instruments. Additionally, you will interpret specifications, calculate machine controls, and oversee the automatic operation of numerical control machines to produce or test parts.
Collaboration with supervisors and programmers is essential to resolve any machine malfunctions and ensure production quality.
Responsibilities
- Select, measure, assemble, and set machine tools using precision gauges and instruments.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines.
- Determine specifications or procedures for tooling setup, machine operation, and workpiece dimensions using blueprints and instructions.
- Calculate and set machine controls to position tools, regulate cutting depth, speed, feed, or coolant flow.
- Position and secure work pieces on machine beds, indexing tables, fixtures, or holding devices.
- Start automatic operation of numerical control machines to machine parts or test setups.
- Collaborate with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Solid Works and UGS Solid Edge.
- Experience with CAM software including CNC Mastercam.
- Skill in using gauges and inspection fixtures like automatic measuring equipment and bore gauges.
- Ability to operate grinding and turning machines, including CNC turning centers.
- Strong communication skills in English for effective collaboration.
- Ability to select appropriate tools and equipment for various tasks.
- Proficiency in operation and control of equipment and systems.
- Capability to monitor machine operations through gauges and indicators.
- Quality control analysis skills for evaluating products and processes.
Qualifications
- CNC mill programming experience.
- Proficiency in Master Cam, Gibbs Cam, Rhinoceros, Auto Cad.
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods and process improvements.
- Experience in inspection and quality control.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Self-motivated and highly organized.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincoln, NE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
