Position Summary

The Aseptic Technician will assemble viral and bacterial antigens into final serials.

Hours:

4:30am – 1:00pm. Overtime, weekend, and holidays may be required.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assembly viral and bacterial antigens into final serials.
  • Understand and apply excellent aseptic technique as it relates to serial production.
  • Understand, follow, and complete process documentation in support of GMP.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of bulk fluids and other components.
  • Perform environmental monitoring.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities in proper working order.
  • Understand and follow safety policies as they relate to biological and chemical components and equipment to protect personnel and maintain product quality.
  • Assist in preparation of SOPs and validation of procedures.
  • Train in all functions of the Assembly department and perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Two years post-secondary education with biological coursework desirable.
  • Preference given to applicants with relevant experience in biological production and/or aseptic manufacturing.
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, computer skills, and working knowledge of metric system.

Physical Position Requirements

  • Exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, noise, live steam, temperature fluctuations, biohazards, continuous standing and lifting to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Weekend and holiday work may be required.
