About the role
As a Packaging Operator, you’ll play an important role in keeping production running safely, efficiently, and with high quality standards. You will set up, operate, clean, and change over packaging equipment, inspect products and materials, and help ensure production goals are met. You will follow GMPs, SOPs, and standard work procedures while maintaining accurate documentation and keeping materials stocked for daily operations.
The role also offers opportunities to support process improvements and help train and guide team members.
- Operate packaging equipment safely and efficiently while following GMP guidelines, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
- Set up, clean, and complete changeovers on packaging equipment to support smooth production operations.
- Inspect products and materials to ensure quality standards are met throughout the packaging process.
- Monitor equipment and production lines, make basic machine adjustments, clear jams, reload materials, and restart equipment as needed.
- Help keep production running by maintaining proper material and supply levels in staging and work areas.
- Support routine equipment maintenance activities and assist with process and procedure improvements.
- Accurately complete production documentation, equipment logs, cleaning records, and required ERP system transactions.
- Safely operate material handling and transport equipment.
- Escalate equipment or production issues to leadership when needed.
- Maintain required training and support teammates through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Basic Requirements:
- Minimum of a HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to create and follow detailed documentation.
- Ability to follow written instructions, standard operation procedures and verbal directions accurately.
- Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in a regulated environment (GMP, Pharmaceutical, food or similar).
- Prior work experience in manufacturing performing equipment set-up and change-overs, or similar demonstrated experience in multi-system mechanical troubleshooting.
- Experience with a lean organization or exposure to lean concepts, tools and techniques.
- Ability to lift 5-25 lbs frequently and occasionally lift drums, bags and cases weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Regular use of various PPE including bump cap, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and N95 or PAPR.
- Team oriented, flexible, able to adapt to changing assignments.
- Highly motivated and self-driven with a desire to continuously improve own skill set; able to function productively with minimal supervision.
Onsite in Lincoln, Nebraska. Not a remote opportunity.
Shift: Mon-Fri 2:30pm-11:00pm (2nd Shift).
