The Torque Converter Assembly Technician inspects, assembles, and tests torque converter components, subassemblies, and complete assemblies to ensure quality and performance standards are met.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInspect and qualify torque converter parts using visual and dimensional criteria
Operate measuring instruments and test equipment to verify tolerances and part placement
Identify parts by model type and part number
Assemble subassemblies and component parts into torque converters using manual, semi-automated, and fully automated methods
Operate air tools, hand tools, torque wrenches, and automated equipment
Record production and quality data manually and electronically
Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality
Perform basic operator-prescribed maintenance on assigned equipment
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including QS 9000 and ISO 14001 standards
Regularly required to stand for extended periods
Frequent use of hands for handling tools and repetitive grasping
Frequent reaching with hands and arms
Occasional walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching
Regular lifting up to 35 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
Close vision and color vision required
Must be able to read and understand English

Work EnvironmentOccasionally works near moving mechanical parts
Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles

Torque converter parts and fluids
Assembly lubricants
Sealing and locking compounds
Solvent- and aqueous-based cleaning and paint products
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must pass background check and drug screen
Must be willing to work mandatory overtime
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to read and understand English
Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
10-hour shifts
12-hour shifts
Day, evening, or night shifts
Monday–Friday
