About

the role

The Mechanical Technician is responsible to troubleshoot, inspect, maintain, repair, and document work on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment involved in the manufacturing and packaging of pharmaceutical products.

Role Responsibilities
  • Observe and test machinery and equipment and analyze information obtained from operators to diagnose malfunctions and equipment problems.
  • Execute preventative maintenance (PM) instructions based on maintenance schedules.
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Repair and replace broken and malfunctioning components.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Record repairs and maintenance performed. Record parts and materials used, and order new parts and materials as necessary.
  • Study blueprints and manufacturers’ manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
  • Design and machine fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs and support production. Operate milling equipment, lathes, welding, sheet metal equipment, and other machine tools.
  • Participate in the planning and installation of new equipment, writing and performing of technical procedures and change controls.
  • Complete process improvement projects to increase equipment efficiency, availability, and reliability.
  • Support and meet departmental, plant and corporate HS&E goals. Work in a safe and efficient manner.
Why you?

Basic Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Electromechanical Technology, Machine Tool Technology, or related field, OR 5 years of manufacturing / packaging equipment maintenance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to repair and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic electrical repairs like sensor replacements, electrical connections, motor wiring and others.
  • Demonstrated skill in interpreting and applying specifications, blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions in order to perform installation, repair, and modification work.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, internet).
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) knowledge (e.g. SAP).
  • Root Cause Analysis knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing process equipment and systems including automated material handling of solids and liquids, lean manufacturing practices, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including validation issues and change control processes
  • Experience with mills, lathes and welding is a plus

Lincoln, Nebraska. This is not a remote opportunity.

1st Shift, 6:30am – 3pm Mon-Fri
