Specific Role:
The Material Handler – Weld Kit to Weld is an important role in EMIT’s manufacturing facility. This role involves moving kitted weld materials from the kitting area to the weld line to support weld operations in an organized manner and with urgency, both inside and outside the building. Execute the daily scheduled production expectations for your specific role.
Key Accountabilities:Material Staging
- Stage kitted weld materials as directed in designated weld staging areas.
- Follow daily schedules and respond quickly to priority changes.
- Verify all staged materials are correctly identified, organized, and accessible.
- Execute all material moves through scan-based system transactions — never relocate material without scanning.
- Scan all items into their designated weld staging locations.
- Transfer kitted weld materials from the kitting area to the weld line and to the next scheduled production activity without delay.
- Ensure all products are moved safely and without damage.
- Follow established transfer routes and staging locations.
- Ensure all physically executed Pick Work is completed digitally for the target completion date within D365.
- Ensure all physically executed Put Work is completed digitally for the target completion date within D365.
- Ensure Bar Code/QR Code scanning is completed through the Warehouse Management App.
- Escalate all work order completion issues within the Warehouse Management App to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Keep all areas organized, clean, and clear of potential hazards.
- Remove debris, empty pallets, and excess materials regularly throughout the shift.
- Report safety concerns or hazardous conditions to the supervisor immediately.
- Follow all PPE requirements and safety protocols without exception.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to changing production priorities.
- Ability to follow daily production schedules, work instructions, and established material-handling processes.
- Basic computer and mobile-device skills with the ability to learn and use D365 and the Warehouse Management App.
- Ability to accurately perform Bar Code/QR Code scanning and scan-based inventory transactions.
- Strong attention to detail when identifying, staging, moving, and tracking materials.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Warehouse, Kitting, Weld, and Production team members.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work independently while supporting overall production needs.
- Previous material handling, warehouse, manufacturing, or production experience preferred.
- Forklift or other material-handling equipment experience/certification preferred, when applicable to assigned duties.
- Ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout an entire shift.
- Ability to safely move and handle materials both inside and outside the building.
- Always use applicable PPE.
- Follow all safety protocols when using tools, equipment, and handling materials.
Pay Range
$20—$24 USD
