Eventide is currently seeking a Director of Philanthropy Communications in Lincoln, NE. The Director of Philanthropy Communications is a strategic leader responsible for advancing a comprehensive philanthropy program through integrated fundraising, communications, grants, and donor relations initiatives. This role leads the Foundation’s annual giving and engagement strategy, including annual giving and grateful patient and family programs, while overseeing donor communications and engagement efforts designed to grow and strengthen the donor base.

In addition, the Director oversees all aspects of grant funding, including the strategic identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of granting agencies and organizations. The role ensures grant activity aligns with organizational priorities and generates sustainable philanthropic support. Across all giving channels, the Director is accountable for delivering a cohesive, mission-driven donor experience through purposeful communication, personalized stewardship, and compelling impact reporting.

By building strong, long-term relationships with individual and institutional supporters, the Director of Philanthropy Communications enhances donor loyalty, drives philanthropic growth, and advances the organization’s strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee a comprehensive annual giving program and philanthropic digital engagement strategies for the Foundation. Collaborate across the organization to identify targets and manage campaigns that maximize gifts through digital, print, social media, and personal outreach. Enhance fundraising strategies to increase donors and dollars raised annually.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to acquire new donors, renew existing ones, and reactivate lapsed donors, thereby expanding the donor base and building a pipeline of major gift prospects. These plans should aim to increase annual philanthropic revenue and strengthen the major gifts pipeline through active donor engagement, personalized outreach, and giving campaigns that leverage the latest digital and print strategies.
  • Establish and monitor annual giving and engagement goals, priorities, and metrics to meet growth expectations and evaluate progress toward goals regularly by measuring results against projections.
  • Utilize best practices to ensure that print and digital communications to grateful families, donors, and prospects are strategically timed to maximize engagement and prompt action. Research and suggest innovative products and delivery methods, uncover compelling stories and visuals, and advance strategic fundraising goals.
  • Develop, regularly evaluate, and ensure execution of plans and budgets for engagement and communications annually.
  • Research, propose, manage, and craft regular and special communications for donors, prospects, and grateful families, delivering clear and compelling messages about the opportunities for and impact of philanthropic support.
  • Research, identify and evaluate prospective grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Write compelling, tailored grant proposals and letters of inquiry that align with organizational priorities and funder guidelines.
  • Collaborate with program staff and leadership to gather data, outcomes, and narratives for proposals and reports.
  • Develop and maintain a grants calendar to track Final date to receive applicationss, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant reports, ensuring compliance with funder expectations.
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with grant‑making organizations, including program officers and trustees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Demonstrated ability to create a program vision and strategic plan that incorporates a comprehensive and diverse range of giving programs; independently initiate and execute program goals and measure results; lead, supervise, and motivate staff and volunteers.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising, annual giving, donor engagement, communications, and project management preferred.
  • Bachelor Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in senior living and long-term care preferred.
