The African Immigrant Family Services is a non-profit empowering African immigrants and refugee families in Omaha through culturally and linguistically responsive education, health initiatives, family support and community engagement programs
As an Ameri Corps VISTA, the Member will build a grant and fund development system alongside a coordinated communications strategy, growing AIFS WEB presence. Member will also increase social media platform expansion and community communication and engagement through tested and proven marketing deliverables. Member will research methods for diversification of fund support while ensuring families learn and have access to program services.
Member will be actively engaged in grant writing, community networking and communications, Nonprofit components of management, writing and editing of outreach publications. As a close-knit team, AIFS has direct exposure with the community being served. Member will conduct presentations, outreach surveys and data analysis from program surveys to better position AIFS for strategic planning and organizational capacity growth.
The VISTA member will serve AIFS in a capacity building position that will assist the organization in the following areas;
Member will conduct research, participate in data collection and analysis for strategic planning, fund development and grant writing.
Member will enhance community outreach and engagement by creating marketing materials, social media platform strategies, website updates and participate in networking nonprofit newsletters by providing relevant content associated with AIFS programs
Member will develop a volunteer manual and database while strengthening outreach and partnerships with area businesses, healthcare organizations, community foundations and state agencies.
Member will evaluate program deliverables, update policies and procedures, expand and broaden communication resources to expand programming for program participants and the AIFS community.
