Serve Nebraska turns service into statewide impact. As Nebraska’s statewide volunteerism agency and administrator of Ameri Corps programs, Serve Nebraska connects people, nonprofits, community organizations, and resources to address critical needs and strengthen communities across the state. Through Ameri Corps and statewide volunteer initiatives, Serve Nebraska creates pathways for Nebraskans—and people from across the country—to put their skills, energy, and passion to work where they are needed most.

Members and volunteers serve in communities throughout Nebraska, supporting education, health, food security, disaster response, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, and other priorities that improve quality of life. Service is about more than filling immediate needs. Serve Nebraska invests in the capacity and resilience of the nonprofit sector, helping organizations recruit, train, manage, and retain volunteers while developing the systems and partnerships needed to sustain long-term impact.

By strengthening the organizations doing the work, Serve Nebraska helps communities build lasting solutions—not just short-term results. The impact reaches far beyond individual service projects. Ameri Corps members gain valuable professional and leadership experience, nonprofits expand their ability to deliver programs, volunteers become more deeply connected to their communities, and Nebraskans benefit from stronger organizations and more responsive services. Serve Nebraska is building a culture of service—one volunteer, one nonprofit, and one community at a time.

VISTA Leader will develop and promote VISTA service opportunities to attract talented individuals to Nebraska, with a focus on rural and underserved communities. Expand Serve Nebraska’s digital presence through strategic social media, storytelling, and communications. Apply skills in writing, editing, graphic design, photography, and digital content creation to showcase VISTA members, host organizations, and community impact. Create newsletters, social media campaigns, recruitment materials, web content, presentations, flyers, and other promotional resources.

Track program activities and outcomes and support Serve Nebraska staff with reporting, data collection, evaluation, and continuous improvement. Through these efforts, help strengthen statewide recruitment, elevate the impact of national service, and build greater awareness and engagement across Nebraska.
