Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner - Family Health provides primary healthcare to a selected group of patients, focusing on wellness promotion, illness prevention, and managing acute minor and stable chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians in accordance with education and state laws.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising and providing clinical direction to clinical staff, including RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants.
  • Adhering to all clinical policies and procedures, including infection control principles and confidentiality.
  • Assessing physical and psychosocial health status through medical history and physical examination.
  • Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests.
  • Triage, diagnose, and treat illnesses and physical conditions within the specialty area of practice.
  • Performing therapeutic and corrective measures, including prescribing medication, and providing preventive health maintenance and education.
  • Teaching and counseling patients, families, and groups.
  • Adhering to the conditions specified in the Nurse Practitioner Practice Agreement.
  • Participating in quality improvement activities.
  • Complying with guidelines set by collaborating physicians and regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery.
  • Performing special assignments as requested.
  • Preparing written documentation, maintaining, distributing, analyzing, and protecting information for required records, reports, and statistics.
  • Directing, instructing, and evaluating nurse practitioner students.
  • Contributing to Quality Improvement and Quality Assurance activities.
  • Performing other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Nurse Practitioner license registration certificate for the state of New York.
  • Master of Science degree in Nursing.
  • National certification in specialty area.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • DEA license registration certificate for the state of New York.
  • Five (5) years of experience in an outpatient setting.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physical Demands

Requires periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Significant job stress may be associated with the position. Evening work may be required.

Salary

$112k - $125k depending on experience.

The selected candidate will be offered a competitive compensation and benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid time off, CME days with an annual stipend, eligibility for student loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps, paid malpractice insurance, and a 401(k) match.
