Overview

Essential Functions- Complete an initial, comprehensive and ongoing assessment of the senior/client and family to determine hospice needs, including a complete physical assessment and history of current and previous illnesses.
- Provide professional nursing care by utilizing all elements of the nursing process as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
- Assess and evaluate the senior’s/client’s status by:
- Writing and initiating a plan of care that establishes goals based on nursing diagnoses and incorporates palliative nursing actions.
- Regularly re‑evaluating senior/client and family/caregiver needs.
- Participating in revising the plan of care as necessary, including the senior/client and the family in the planning process.
- Use health assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses.
- Initiate appropriate preventive nursing procedures. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician in the physician’s plan of care.
- Provide health‑care instructions to the senior/client as appropriate per assessment and plan.
- Assist the senior/client with activities of daily living and comfort care.
- Act as case manager when assigned by the Patient Care Coordinator and assume responsibility to coordinate senior/client care for the assigned caseload.
- Complete, maintain and submit accurate and relevant clinical notes regarding the senior/client’s condition and care given, recording pain/symptom‑management changes/outcomes as appropriate.
- Communicate with the physician regarding the senior/client’s needs and report changes in the senior/client’s condition; obtain and receive physicians’ orders as required.
- Age requirement:
At least 18 years old. - Education:
Successful completion of a Registered Nurse course of study. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. - Experience:
Two years of acute care/long‑term care nursing experience within the last five years preferred; experience in community health and/or hospice preferred. - Credentials:
- RN license in good standing as recorded on the Nebraska State Registry or other Nurse Compact state required.
- CPR certification required and must be kept up to date at the employee’s expense.
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license (unless otherwise allowed by law) and a good driving record required.
- Must possess auto insurance at or above Nebraska statutory requirements.
- Must meet Eventide’s vaccination requirements.
Eventide offers a competitive starting pay range of $36–$40.32 per hour for RNs, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Shift premiums and differentials are also available for select positions, paid on employment status and shift worked.
