Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical
Location: Kearney, NE
Agency: United Health Care Staffing, Inc.
Pay: $2,200 to $2,300 per week
Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities- Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care for Med-Surg and Orthopedics patients including post-op joint and spine patients
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care in EPIC
- Monitor patients on telemetry and collaborate with tele/monitor techs for timely interventions
- Educate patients and families on post-op care, pain management and discharge instructions
- Work as a team player—support nursing aides, techs and the charge nurse to maintain excellent patient flow
- Respond to call-back requirements promptly (30-minute arrival expectation when placed on call)
- Participate in unit-based initiatives and take ownership of patient safety and quality
- Strong Med-Surgical and Orthopedics clinical skills
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
- Telemetry awareness and ability to collaborate with tele techs
- Basic phlebotomy knowledge and comfort with 24/7 phlebotomy processes
- Excellent teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage 1:5-1:6 nurse-to-patient ratios in an acute setting
- Active RN license appropriate for practice (able to work in Nebraska)
- Minimum 2 years of RN clinical experience (Med-Surg/Orthopedics experience strongly preferred)
- Current BLS certification required
- Driver's license required at submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
- Willingness to complete a pass/fail skills exam during orientation (open-book; 90% required to continue)
- Ability to work every-other-weekend and rotate holidays with permanent staff
- Must not be currently full-time, part-time, or PRN with any Common Spirit-affiliated facility (including CHI and Dignity)
