A Medical Surgical (MS) registered nurse position is available in Lincoln, Nebraska. This role involves providing patient care on a medical surgical floor with a focus on medical, surgical, and orthopedics patients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering quality nursing care within a fast-paced acute care setting.

  Valid nursing license; BLS certification; minimum of 1 year of professional nursing experience in a comparable setting.

  • Must adhere to facility policies, including restrictions on artificial nails and fingernail policies.
  • Must pass a pass/fail skills exam during orientation with at least a 90% score.
  • Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification.
  • Department has 42 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6.
  • Staff responsibilities include caring for medical, surgical, and orthopedic patients, with charge nurses taking assignments.
  • No titratable drips, except Heparin. RT is available 24 hours for all setups, and tele-monitoring is available on the floor with centralized stations.
  • Staffing includes nurse aides/patient care techs with ratios of 1:10-12.
  • Shifts are from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with additional weekend and holiday requirements as needed.
  • No call or standby requirements.
  • Scrubs are navy blue; orientation includes classroom training plus two 12-hour on-floor shifts.
  • RTO requests of 7 days or less per 13-week contract are accepted; additional RTO is not approved.
  • The facility can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
