Primarily Arboriculture work, such as trimming trees, while working in a 55-foot, aerial lift unit. Arboriculture experience is required. Candidate will also perform labor for general landscape installation and maintenance. Supervise one or more employees.

Minimum Qualifications: No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class.

Preferred: Experience in lawn mowing, turf maintenance, hedge trimming, snow shoveling, gardening, farming, horticulture, landscaping, or grounds keeping.

Other: Experience or ability to learn how to safely operate a truck with GVWR of 29,000 pounds equipped with an aerial lift unit;
Nebraska CDL with air brakes certification or be able to pass same within 4 weeks after employment. Arboriculture experience with professional tree service or municipality preferred. Experience using chain saws with a commercial tree service or grounds maintenance crew is preferred. Candidate must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds throughout an 8 to 10 hour work shift.

Work will be at various parks throughout Nebraska; therefore, extensive travel will be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the operation of various types of equipment associated with grounds maintenance. Ability to operate and maintain hand and powered tools and equipment essential for miniature and repair work including chain saws, weed whips, mowers, tractors and trucks; to perform heavy physical labor and to work in adverse weather conditions; communicate effectively with staff.
