Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and schedule use of the Nature Center facilities and programs; fulling requests from the community and ensuring uses align with the mission of Pioneers Park Nature Center.
  • Assisting in ensuring staffing needs are fulfilled for Nature Center facilities, programs, and events.
  • Oversee the care of exhibit animals and related supplies.
  • Contribute to program planning and assist with the implementation of Nature Center special events and programs.
  • Support Nature Center operations, ensuring a welcoming, informative, and engaging experience for all visitors.

Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This is a 30 hour/week position.

Work location: Pioneers Park Nature Center, 3201 S. Coddington Ave.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent and some experience providing nature/environmental education programs to the general population; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.

Desirable Training and

Experience:

Graduation from a senior high school or equivalent supplemented by college-level course work in nature, botany, horticulture, zoology or related field plus experience in nature related work or public speaking and experience providing nature/environmental education programs to the general population
