Position: QA Engineer I

Job Summary

Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed. Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates. Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions.

Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures effective corrective actions are implemented, and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs.

Essential Functions
  • Establish quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications to prevent defects in components or final products.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including product design, product management, and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.
  • Audit production processes, raw materials, or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects, non‑conformities, or other quality failures.
  • Ensure compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree and 0‑3 years of experience or equivalent combination of relevant education & experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Quality or Engineering degree preferred.
  • Technical expertise, ability to identify and seek needed information, research skills, and problem‑solving skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Remain stationary at a desk and/or computer for extended periods.
  • Regular movement throughout facilities.
  • May need to stand for long periods.
  • Work primarily in a climate‑controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazards.
  • Work may require operating machinery or exposure to changing climate.
Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.
