Job DescriptionFollows policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. Follows and/ or develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes through standard procedures & systems (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 & AS9100 standards), quality audits/ review process, etc. Responsibilities are within the Quality Assurance Methods Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
Impact of the RoleRequires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes. Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise. Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods. Works with a moderate degree of supervision. Performs manual tasks according to established procedures.
Essential Functions- Defines and specifies activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for materials, components, or products.
- Builds and maintains the infrastructure and systems necessary to consistently ensure the timely delivery of quality products.
- Identifies and addresses any issues with equipment performance.
- Audits, monitors, and determines the quality of manufacturing processes and/or outputs against defined internal and regulatory standards.
- Reports and troubleshoots manufacturing process deviations and defects in finished goods
- Conducts tests on materials or samples to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Ability to identify and seek needed information. Research skills. Problem-solving skills.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
