The Food Allergy Research and Resource Program (FARRP) develops and provides the food industry with credible information, expert opinions, tools, and services related to allergenic foods, novel foods, and food ingredients, including genetically modified products. FARRP takes a comprehensive approach, collaborating with research institutions, governmental authorities, consumer groups, and scientific societies worldwide to improve food safety for consumers. As an Analytical Laboratory Analyst, you will work in a research technologist II capacity within the UNL system.
Responsibilities- Perform confidential analysis for trace amounts of allergenic foods using immunochemical methods.
- Maintain detailed documentation, identify appropriate extraction procedures, perform methods evaluations and comparisons, and perform ancillary lab functions.
- Assist in client and accreditation official’s audits to help maintain the lab’s ISO 17025 accreditation.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or other relevant science field plus three years experience in a food industry or analytical testing lab.
- Previous laboratory experience with reagent preparation, analytical laboratory methods requiring proper use of controls, reference materials, and accurate documentation.
- Experience to independently assess and address assay and sample anomalies.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Previous experience with immunoassays and aseptic technique.
- Previous experience with methods development or experience modifying existing assays.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre‑employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
- Criminal history background check required.
