Position SummaryThe Cook is responsible for preparing appetizing, nutritious meals for residents, patients, and guests while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. This role works closely with the dietary team to ensure meals are served on time and in accordance with menus and special diet requirements. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating a positive dining experience and supporting quality of life for those we serve.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
- Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and presented in an appealing and timely manner.
- Follow therapeutic diet modifications and special requests as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
- Assist with food storage, labeling, and rotation following food safety guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with dietary aides, servers, and leadership.
- Support a positive, resident-focused dining environment.
- Previous cooking experience preferred; healthcare or senior living experience a plus.
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and diet orders accurately.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
