The manager is responsible for store appearance and operations that reflect company standards and image. In addition to being responsible for store appearance and operations, the manager is responsible for presenting the Git ‘ N Split image to ensure proper customer and sales associate relations. The manager will direct the operation of their store in accordance with company policy and procedures, to maximize store profits, to have a significant impact on store operating expenses and sales volume.

The manager is also responsible to provide the foundation and guidance for employees to achieve maximum success and personal motivation.

II. The Duties and Responsibilities Are: A. Employee Relations
  • Interview, hire, and train the best possible associate for every store position.
  • Maintain an adequate staff.
  • Process required employee information and all paperwork on a timely basis (sent to corporate office within three (3) days of hire).
  • Proper work scheduling and use of allocated hours.
  • Maintain accurate personnel files on each associate.
  • Supervise employees in a fair, consistent and impartial way in accordance with E.E.O. guidelines and consults with supervisor if unsure.
  • May terminate employees for flagrant violations of company policy or after consultation with supervisor in instances involving poor job performance or similar situations.
  • Ensures compliance with company dress codes in areas of personal appearance, cleanliness, and uniforms for themselves and store employees at all times.
  • Promotes teamwork between store employees, supervision and staff. Conducts store meetings for employees regularly (at least quarterly).
  • Delegates tasks to Assistant Manager and responsible personnel as necessary.
  • Conducts him/herself in a professional manner, speaking highly of the company in the presence of other employees, vendors, and customers.
B. Communications
  • Be available for “on call” and have access to a telephone at all times.
  • Relay information from supervisor to all store employees.
  • Advise supervisor of significant events affecting the store.
  • Keep all store information confidential.
C. Accounting
  • Operate the cash register accurately and according to company policy.
  • Prepare and/or assure that bank deposits are made according to company policy.
  • Prepare and/or assure that all accounting records are completed accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Control company funds:
    • a. Expenses
    • b. Cash
    • d. Equipment/Supplies
    • e. Money Orders
    • f. Lottery Tickets
  • Order merchandise and maintain proper gross profits.
  • Check competition prices.
  • Maintain build to sheets.
  • Ensure that correct pricing is maintained and that merchandise is rotated, clean and in date code.
  • Is aware of and assists with all promotions according to the marketing planner, displaying advertising material, window banners and displays on a timely basis.
  • If applicable, understand pizza and/or fast food operations.
E. Customer Relations
  • Assure that each customer receives prompt and courteous service.
  • Handle customer complaints in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Use suggestive selling to improve sales.
F. Store Conditions
  • Maintain Git ‘ N Split’s high standard of housekeeping.
  • Ensure that each shift maintains store cleanliness and that equipment maintenance meets company standards or is reported to the proper person for repair or replacement immediately.
G. Security
  • Follow company policies, including but not limited to vendor check‑in policy to ensure against loss of money or merchandise.
  • Maintain control to ensure proper use of all store keys, safe combinations and equipment passwords.
  • Change videotapes in the security system immediately after reporting to work and clocking in.
  • View security tapes on a regular basis to assess employee and store activity and performance in the manager’s absence.
H. Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand during shift, to bend, stoop, squat, and twist.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs when moving merchandise, such as pop‑bibs, CO2 tanks, or when emptying trash containers.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder to change light bulbs and gas price signs.
