Job Description:
The Reception and Treatment Center (RTC) is seeking a highly efficient, self-motivated, well-organized candidate for the position of Corrections Captain.

Job Duties:
Supervises, assigns and evaluates the work of subordinate custody/security staff.
Responsible for all operations, control and security of areas as assigned.
Inspects all areas within the facility to see that inmate/offender discipline isbeing maintained.
Exercises responsibility over the armory and controls the use of all firearms.
Conducts investigations involving staff, inmates and visitors as assigned bythe Major or higher authority.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related Behavioral Science plus four years correctional related experience or an associate’s degree plus six years correctional related experience or High School education or equivalent plus eight years correctional related experience. One year of the experience must have been in a responsible supervisory capacity. No felony or domestic abuse related convictions.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience working for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Experience developing operational procedures and complying with ACA standards. Previous investigator training. Completion of a leadership program.
Other :
Must have a valid driver's license. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
